I just got an Akai LPD8 for which I've created a user remote script and 3 presets for controlling Macros, Drum Rack view and Impulse. I found other scripts and presets on the net for the LPD8, but they don't work. Included in this zip file: Preset 1: Drum Rack (bottom 8 pads) + Macro Control with the 8 encoders Preset 2: Drum Rack (top 8 pads) + Macro Control with the 8 encoders Preset 3: Impulse (8 percussion slots) + Macro Control with the 8 encoders + HowToInstall.txt, screenshot of Ableton preferences and the remote script for automapping in Live. Download it from here (New version 1.1): Last edited by on Thu Jun 17, 2010 10:00 pm, edited 3 times in total.
I updated the zip file, and made a CC add on.if you're in CC-mode (the CC-button will light on your LPD8), then you get 8 more buttons to play with and use for manual MIDI mapping in Live. This could be used for triggering scenes, tapping tempo, 'Play', 'Stop', etc. I have chosen to have the same CC's on all 3 presets (CC#9-16), but you could assign different CC's for every preset if you want (but please be aware: CC#1-8 is used for the rotary encoders for instant mapping to work). And remember, preset 4 is still free and available on your LPD8 for your own personal taste. Hi guys, In the read me file it says to place the LPD8 folder into: MAC: User Library Preferences Ableton Live 8.1.3 or your version User Remote Scripts This doesn't exist on my Mac! I put it in the MIDI Remote Scripts folder under Apps/Ableton. But it did't work properly.
I then saw another thread that putting in that folder is a common mistake, so the question is. Where can I put it if the file path doesn't exist!? Under preferences Ableton (or alike) is not listed at all. Live 9 by the way!
