Zen Sleek Photo Drivers For Mac
I was wondering how this thread was going. I have a Zen Neeon and recently purchased an iMac. Enjoying the transition from PC to Mac apart from the Zen and Mac not being on speaking terms. I can see the Zen come up as a device on the Mac desktop and it lets me throw music to it with the Zen even lighting up as if it is receiving data but when I check the Zen the music is not there. Have just tried the XNJB program and no luck unless I am doing something wrong it doesn't recognise the Zen.
Zen Sleek Photo Drivers For Mac
Oh yeah, Hi all I am new! No need for replies on Zen problem I bought a 8GB iPod Nano today. All is right in my world once again. Zen/Mac I'm glad I came across this thread. I'm thinking of buying a iMac. (no experience w/any Apple product, besides the Beatles ).) My son just got a Zen Stone.
My ancient pirated WindowsMe doesn't like it, missing integral files. Now I'm wondering-in conversing with the salesman, all of my Windows-based files on my ext Zip and on my cpu should transfer seamlessly to the iMac, and all of my usb devices will work, according to him. EXCEPT that Zen. Now at this point, I don't mind getting him a Shuffle instead, but it seems that Mac is being quite exclusive in the Mp3 department. Is this true with other Mp3 players?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. The iMac seems to make sense, and this would be a big transition for me(or so it seems) Steve. Creative Zen compatability (+video problems) For anyone who is having problems with this, many of the answers are simple. If you don't want to cave as SarieAnn did, first off, when you plug in your Creative ZEN or whatever you might have, open XNJB, plug in your player and wait for it to turn on.
Once the player is fully powered up, press the 'Connect' button at the bottom-right hand corner of the window. You should see a USB symbol with arrows spinning around it on the player and connected should display at the bottom of the window. You have now successfully connected. You can now add music to your ZEN as they are arranged in the folders of your computer.
In my opinion, it should sync with you iTunes library, but I guess we don't have that luxury here. Anyway, you can edit playlist orders, which you cannot do in the player and a few other things. One of the problems I've recently been having is that videos are not recognized by my player.
I upload them to the 'Videos' folder under the 'Data' tab. I have tried both.mp4 and.mpg. If anyone has a solution to this problem, please tell me as there are several videos I wanted to watch. (Mostly entertaining YouTube stuff. ) Don't just cave and get an iPod. They are severely overrated.
My Creative ZEN, which I got refurbished on eBay for $70, does more than the iPod nano they have out now (- 'Shake-to-Shuffle,' but who uses that, anyway? Or at least if you're going to get a player, look around and read reviews before you buy them. I would highly recommend it. Click to expand.Funny thing, I was actually running into the same sort of problems a while back.
It was the same for downloading as well. What OS are you using? This made a major difference to me. I was using 10.4 until I accidentally installed 10.3 (long story.).
This brought up several problems. I can't remember exactly what I did, but it is working now. One thing you might try is connecting the player, then rebooting. When the computer reboots, only have XNJB open to manipulate files. I seemed to run into more problem if the files I copied to a from the player were not in my actual 'Music' folder. This should get rid of most problems. If you still cannot get it to work well, go ahead and reply and I'll try assist you further.
Hey all, hoping someone can help me here. Hey all, hoping someone can help me here. Click to expand. You cannot play.wav files on a Mac as they are protected file format that Macintosh does not have rights to use on their systems. In order to remedy this, you should check out Switch, a free audio conversion software found.
Just convert all of your files to.aac or.mp3, whatever your choice is. I had the same problem when I made my PC to Mac conversion. Hope this helps.
If you need any more help, just go ahead and reply to this. My email account is subscribed so I should receive it quite quickly.

Conversion not the problem Transfer OFF the JB3 to the macbook is the problem. I have been able to get a wav or 2 off (on occaision) but now, all I get is above error message.
Wav's play fine in itunes for me. J I'm actually thinking that XNJB program doesnt work with USB 2.0 (according to them).
Is my macbook trying to grab/transfer too fast? And The JB3 cant keep up? Hence the error message - usbbulkread (ReadPipeTO):error reading from bulk endpoint 82: pipe is stalled,njb3getfileblock:I/O failure on USB data pipe Make any sense? Any way to 'slow down' the USB 2.0 port on the macbook? I have an old Creative Zen Neeon 6gb (around 3 years old) and recently inherited my sis' old Macbook (1-2 years old). When my Creative is plugged in my Macbook is able to detect the connection and shows it on the desktop as an ejectable icon.
It also shows up in iTunes, however when I copied my mp3 files over I noticed a few days later (it could have happened immediately, I probably didn't notice it) the file names were all screwed up (e.g. They were listed as 0X - SONG TITLE, or SONG TITLE, or ARTIST NAME - SONG TITLE #123 some random numbers?) When I tried to change it back to normal (I'm a fussy guy =x) the file would just change itself back to the weird titles. Also it was listed as Nomad MuVo on iTunes.
Any help here?
I was told to reboot the firmware from the 'Reset hole', once i did this I was told to connect the device to the computer and install a new firmware. The creative programs do not recognise it but the computer itself does.
I cannot install a new firmware nor can i access any music folders. I got my Creative Zen Sleek Photo from a friend and everything I did wouldn't let Windows recognize it, but then I got it to work almost magically. Make sure you have the proper drivers installed for it that come with the CD. If you don't have the CD, you can download the ISO here.
When it comes back up, plug the cable into your computer, then into your Sleek. The software should sync up. For some reason, my Zen wasn't being recognized from the usb port on my computer tower, but I plugged it into my monitor's USB port and then it worked. Try that, if none of that works, then it may be a problem with your computer not knowing which driver to assign to your Zen, and if so, try the steps below.
Plug your Sleek to your computer. Open up Windows' Device manager (right-click on 'My Computer' and select 'Properties'. Go to the 'Hardware' tab, then click 'Device Manager'). Locate the entry for 'Creative Zen Sleek' in your device list. It should appear either under 'Sound, video, and game controllers' or under 'USB Devices'. Once you locate the entry, uninstall it. Unplug your Sleek and wait a few seconds.

Plug your Sleek back in and allow the 'new Hardware Wizard' to identify and install the drivers for it. Posted on Oct 27, 2008. I had this same problem and almost threw out the Zen. You need to download the Zen Sleek Photo firmware upgrade software from Creative. The firmware updater needs to run in XP SP2 or SP3.
It apparently won't run on Vista. The trick to getting the Zen recognized by the firmware update software is to make sure you uninstall both WMP11 as well as the WMP11 Runtime. Those two things are listed separately in Add/Remove programs. BOTH must be uninstalled before the firmware updater will recognize your Zen. Now I'm back to using my Zen. It's all good.
Nov 26, 2008. The recovery tool mentioned above is not designed for the sleek photo. You need to download the firmware for the sleek photo from creative's site. Now we need to get your player recognized to get the firmware loaded. If you have Windows Media Player 11, it needs to be removed. Also remove WMP runtime. After that, restart the pc and your player should be recognized.
You can then double click on the firmware program to run it. It might say something like, this firmaware is already installed.do you want to reload it? Click yes to reload. I had the same problem with my sleek photo.
Creative Zen Sleek Photo Software
Once I got rid of WMP and the runtime everything worked like a charm. Jul 02, 2008. Either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware. Jun 03, 2008.
Detach your player from the PC if it is connected, and turn off the player. If the player stops responding, you can reset the player. To reset the player, gently insert a thin object into the Reset hole located below the power switch. Press and hold the Play button while powering on your player. When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button.
Do a Clean Up this Scans the player and removes invalid links from its music library. Does not affect music files themselves. Reboot the device. It it continues to boot into revcovery mode see below: Booting straight to the Recovery menu I decided to open it up to check out the hard drive to see what kind I would need so I could try replacing it. The data plug that attaches to the hard drive itself was partially unplugged.
So, I pushed it back in all the way, put it all back together again, and turned it on just to see if something different might happen. (I had it set in my mind that the hard drive failed and I would need a new one, so I didn't expect anything different to happen) And to my surprise, it worked just like new again. Before you go off and invest in a new hard drive, I suggest opening it up and make sure that plug is in all the way. Since you'll be opening it up in any case, it wouldn't hurt Feb 11, 2008. I have the sleek photo and mine bugged out yesterday.
It would go to the splash screen and then go blank and just sit there. Nothing would respond. I tried reset, reboot and other things too.
My pc also would not recognize the player. To make a long story short, I tried other suggestions I found on the web. They didn't work and my player would now only go to a garbled splash screen and go right to the recovery screen. I had the new firmware, but I couldn't use it because the pc wouldn't detect the goofy player. Then I ran across a site that mentioned that Windows Media Player can cause player recognition problems. I removed both WMP (mine was 11) and WMP runtime using the add/remove programs option on the control panel. I restarted the pc and BAM!
The player was now recognized. I ran the new firmware application and the player works fine now. The key for me was getting rid of WMP and the WMP runtime. Jan 30, 2008.
